RUF Agar Agar 30g - Vegan gelatin alternative with power RUF Agar Agar is a high-quality, plant-based gelatin alternative derived from algae. This versatile product is ideal for preparing cakes, desserts and other dishes that require a gelling agent and offers a reliable alternative for those who want to avoid animal gelatin for dietary, health or ethical reasons. Agar Agar is extremely economical and can bind up to 5 liters of liquid. It comes in a practical 30g bag that makes portioning easier and ensures freshness and optimal quality

Preparation:

1 bag is sufficient for approx. 10 portions (3g each = 1 slightly heaped teaspoon).
1 portion (3g = 1 slightly heaped teaspoon) corresponds to approx. 6 sheets of gelatine and is sufficient for 500 ml of liquid

For cold masses:
1. Mix 3g of agar agar powder with other dry ingredients if necessary and bring to the boil with approx. 100 ml of liquid for approx. 2 minutes.
2. Allow to cool slightly, then stir in the cold ingredients (400 ml).
3. Quickly pour the mixture into a mold = done!
When adding whipped cream (e.g. for cake fillings), allow the hot mixture to cool slightly, otherwise the whipped cream will melt.

For hot masses:
1. Mix 3g of agar agar powder with other dry ingredients if necessary and bring to the boil with 500ml of liquid for about 2 minutes.
2. Pour the mixture into a mold = done!

Depending on the recipe, chill for 1-3 hours.

Attention: If you are working with acidic liquids or vinegar, use double the amount of agar agar!
After cooking, agar agar gels at about 35 °C.

Agar agar is made from algae and is a plant-based alternative to gelatine. It may be necessary to adapt the preparation. The typical smell can be detected when boiling. In the cooled dish, agar agar is odorless and tasteless.
