Crunchy poppy seeds give the batter a well-rounded taste. A loaf cake with that certain something that goes perfectly with a cup of coffee or tea, as a snack or dessert. It is quick and easy to prepare. Poppy seed filling and decorative sugar are already included in the package. This means you can make the popular classic cake yourself in no time at all!

For the dough:
150 g soft margarine or butter
3 eggs (size M)
60 ml milk (1.5% fat)

For the shape:
some fat and wheat flour

For the poppy seed filling:
75 ml water

preparation

To make dough:
Mix the poppy seed filling with water. Put the baking mix, soft margarine or butter, eggs and milk in a mixing bowl and mix briefly with the electric hand mixer (whisk) on the lowest setting, then mix on the highest setting for about 3 minutes until creamy. Baking:
Grease and flour a loaf pan (approx. 25 cm), put 2/3 of the dough into it and smooth it out. Stir the poppy seed filling into the remaining dough and spread it over the light dough. Bake the cake in the preheated oven on the middle shelf. After about 15 minutes of baking, cut the cake lengthwise in the middle about 1 cm deep. Before removing it from the oven, check whether the cake is cooked with a wooden skewer. Cooling and glazing:
After baking, remove the cake from the tin and place it on a wire rack to cool. Dust with icing sugar before serving.
