In Eastern European cuisine, people love strong bell pepper sauces and other spicy sauces. Among the classics is also the Soljanka, a traditional sour and spicy soup with meat sausage and gherkins, which should not be missing on any menu of good restaurants, especially in the east of Germany.
With MAGGI Fix with natural ingredients*, you can make a hearty, juicy soljanka soup with meat sausage and fresh vegetables in just a few minutes. With smoked bacon, tomatoes, peppers, onions and garlic, spicy seasoned with pepper, chili, cumin and ginger. Hearty, spicy, delicious!
For this you need:
- 400g meat sausage (alternatively bockwurst, hunting sausage or cold roast)
- 2 peppers
- 1 onion
- 2 gherkins
- 1TL oil
It's as simple as this:
Cut sausage into thin strips, peppers into strips. Dice peeled onion and gherkins. Fry sausage, onion and peppers in hot oil. Add 350ml water, stir in bag contents and bring to a boil. Cook uncovered on low heat for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally. Heat the gherkins in it until hot.
If desired, serve solyanka with a dollop of sour cream and a slice of lemon.
Toast or a baguette is an excellent side dish.
